Library

Somatic Systems Institute maintains a reading library of hard-to-find resources that our students might not have been able to acquire themselves.

An ample online somatics resource is also available at The Somatics Center library. In one location you can find a selection of articles featuring a sample of the diverse applications of somatics — biofeedback, yoga, hospital rehabilitation, vision, gymnastics, martial arts — as well as seminal writing by Thomas Hanna, founder of the field of somatics. Training Program Resources

There was a time, not too long ago, when once a student was certified, they were pretty much left on their own to market their practice, handle business issues, and tackle tough cases. This left a lot of folks feeling frustrated and lost, and caused a lot of great practitioners to go back to their "normal" jobs, relegating their practice to something the did on a very small scale, mostly for friends and family, if at all. Others incorporated some techniques into their existing massage or other body-work practice, but were unsure of how to market themselves as Somatic Practitioners.
