Pilates

Somatics and Pilates are similar in their goal of a more controlled and intelligent mind/body. The most profound problem that we have seen in Pilates students is often the building of strength on top of a foundation that needs more freedom, flexibility, and intelligence as its base. Pilates can be a great practice, but we encourage people to also learn the muscular coordination, balance, and freedom of Somatics before or during such a practice.
